Greater Good Events is a women-owned, run and led event planning, design, and coordination company. We are a collective of dreamers and doers who believe in the power of 'we':

  • We are friends, planners and dog moms;

  • We love to travel (often for events) - near and far;

  • We thrive on the creativity and chaos that events bring;

  • We are a boutique company with an emphasis on sustainability;

  • We work from our hearts and build lasting relationships with clients and vendors alike;

  • We believe that events should be grounded in love and engineered to utilize every resource responsibly.

We can't wait to be your planner, friend and advocate for your next event!

Founder & CEO

I’m excited you’re here and look forward to sharing our story with you! My name is Ellen and I’m the founder and lead planner of Greater Good Events. I love working in events, creating and coordinating peoples most special moments from behind the scenes.

My love of events runs deep. Stemming from my parents continued involvement in social, community, and political events, instilling in me the importance of giving back. Greater Good Events was born out of these experiences and the desire to bring sustainability to the forefront of events.

I cherish every opportunity to work with organizations from within the community, to ensure excess items such as food and flowers from our client’s events, can be donated to those less fortunate. Social justice and responsibility are at the core of Greater Good Events and are part of the soul that motivates our team.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with amazing non-profits, couples and corporations across the New York Metro area and destinations all across the globe, to plan amazing, local, sustainable and eco-friendly events. My goal wherever possible is to reduce the vast amount of waste created from events while still creating amazing and beautiful moments. Throughout my career, I have built and maintained relationships with world-renowned vendors who thrive on the same values, to creating amazing, intentional and sustainable events!

Gloria Steimen said it best, "Dreaming, after all, is a form a planning."

I truly believe that all great events start with a dream and are followed by thoughtful decisions to make the perfect event come to life. For more than five years I have been leading and assisting in the coordination of events that prioritize client desires, optimize creativity and maximize resources.

Coordinating with Greater Good Events makes perfect sense: I get to plan small and large scale events, work with individuals that set no limits for their dreams, and travel the world while doing so. Together, we're making beautiful events sustainable.

When I'm not planning your event, I keep busy by spoiling my dog, Charlie, with love, cuddles and hikes; planning my next adventure to foreign lands (preferably exotic beaches!); and, reading the latest psycho-thriller over a chilled glass of Riesling.

Saluti!

Joining the amazing team at Greater Good Events has been a wonderful experience. I am a true Portland soul who believes in keeping my "small" town green and beautiful. Growing up and living in the greenscape of the Pacific Northwest,  sustainability, recycling and preservation, are very close to my heart. Working with Greater Good Events helps keep that a reality.

I enjoy the planning process, the puzzle of figuring out exactly what the client wants, and then seeing the enjoyment when the event comes to fruition.

In my spare time, I love to find new eateries in the PNW, hang out with my family of three kids, two dogs and a cat, sing karaoke, and binge any and all things true crime, and add a dash of Disneyland to round out the year.
